We are a mere 3 weeks out from completing another round of FITNESS FOR 5K. I can literally feel the nervousness of our group at the prospect of running 5 whole kilometres! However, we’ve done the training, we’ve progressed bit by bit each week and we’ve worked on strength, conditioning and stretching. The foundation has been laid and I know this group will get some great results – as previous ones have too.

It’s always at the halfway point that I often have conversations around just how far everyone has come. When we complete a training run of 4 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking for 6 rounds; then get everyone to reflect on how that felt compared to the very first run. THAT generally really hits home.

There’s a common theme with everyone at the start of FITNESS FOR 5K – that they’re not a runner, they’re not fit enough and the next 8 weeks is going to be really, really hard.

I get that feeling. I understand what it’s like. I’ve been there.

This is WHY I created FITNESS FOR 5K. It’s a program that gradually and safely progresses you over the course of 8 weeks, often so gradually you don’t even realise just how far you’ve come!

I love letting the group know the total distance we’ve covered because it’s often much further than they expect.

If you’ve been wanting to get into running, return to it form a long break away or just keep going and maintain your fitness I want to hear from you. I would like to offer another round before winter and I am currently taking expressions of interest.

Please get in touch and we can chat about what that might look like for you. (erin@epexercisephysiology.com.au)
